KABUL (Pajhwok): Former police chief for Gurbaz district of southeastern Khost province was killed in an attack on Sunday morning, officials said.

Talib Mangal, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajwhok Afghan News that the incident took place in the district today morning.

He said ex-police chief of the district Qaderullah was killed and one of his guards wounded as a result of clash. Qader was brother of Kamal Nasir Osoli, a member of Wolesi Jirga.

Abdul Hai Zazai, district’s administrative chief, told Pajhwok that unknown armed men attacked Qaderullah’s home this morning. He said Qaderullah was killed.

The district chief was currently in Kabul.
