KABUL (Pajhwok): Two policemen have been killed and 14 militants clad in military uniform arrested during a clash in the Paghman district of Kabul province, an official said on Frday.

Addressing reporters Kabul Police Chief Lt. Gen. Mohammad Salem Ihsas 14 insurgents were held in the Tatai area of Paghman after a clash on Thursday evening.

Kabul Carrision Commander Lt. Gen. Afzal Aman who was also present at the press briefing said the arrested militants were involved in subversive activities in the province. Eight EK-47 and military gears were recovered from the detained rebels, he added.

Separately, unidentified gunmen have killed a driver and took his car in Kabul, said Ihsas.

In Qarabagh, he said one person was killed after a verbal dispute turned violent. Two suspects had been arrested in connection to the murder.

He said investigation into the incident had been launched.
