KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Defense (MoD) on Tuesday said it had launched an investigation into a video showing an officer of the ministry having sex with a woman.

The video shows Col. Abdur Rassoul Mayel Laghmani, an Afghan Air Forces surgeon, having sex with a young woman. The video went viral on social media on Monday.

However, the woman’s face could not be recognised. Brig. Gen. Mohammad Radminsh, deputy spokesman for MoD, told Pajhwok Afghan News the legal department of the ministry had started a probe into the video leak.

Information on the issue would be shared later with the media after the investigation was completed, he said, giving no further details of the incident that has sparked a public backlash.
